The business started as Ferm Motors in 1974, and then when Jimmy Loubser bought it soon thereafter, he changed the name on 20 June 1994, to Ermelo Toyota. He rebuilt the Ermelo Toyota dealership in 2005 and simultaneously redeveloped the filling station known as Ermelo Toyota Total.
In 2005, Ermelo Toyota bought the battling Pongola Toyota in partnership with (minority shareholders, Rocco Holl and Eben Leibbrandt Family Trust), adding to the LoCross Group of companies. The dealership was spectacularly turned around.
